Health Care System

What a mess huh? Most people can't afford it including me. When you do manage to get the coverage, you still might not get help when you need it. What would be the cause of this mess? If you ask me, it is the hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies. If they continue to charge so much for there services and medication, the health care providers have no choice but to charge more and more for health coverage. I'll give you a perfect example. My wife required blood pressure medication while she was pregnant. We took the prescription down to the local pharmacy and came back later only to find out that is was going to cost $134.99! My wife looked at him and said "I don't have a medical card. I can't aford that." He said "Let me go back in the office and see what I cant do." He came back proclaiming that he had got the price nocked down a little for her. She was still thinking it was going to cost too much when he said he got it knocked down to $19.99! Once the hospitals or pharmacies find out you don't have any health coverage they all jump into a different mode of operation. Instead of milking you for all they can get. They'll try to work with you and get you by as cheap as possible. Which is nice of them to do, but how can they get away with charging 8 times too much to begin with. Meanwhile you have all these doctors living in mansions. They should get paid well for what they do but there is just something really bad off kilter here. They simply should not get away with charging so much as soon as they find out that you have some kind of health coverage. We managed to get a medical card during the last part of the pregnancy or we would litterally be in the poor house right now. Everyone could have some sort of health coverage if we simply demanded that somebody mandate how much the medical field be allowed to charge. There simply should not be a separate extremely inflated charge for someone with medical coverage as apposed to someone without. It should all be a fairly reasonable price and not change. Am I the only person that realizes this is the problem?
